Accessibility Statement

Our standards, testing practices, and accommodations for digital accessibility.

Effective August 16, 2026Target: WCAG 2.2 Level AA

1. Conformance Standard

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standards published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and we align our digital practices with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and relevant international accessibility frameworks.

2. Accessibility Features Built into OSN

  • Keyboard Navigation: All navigation menus, search overlays, reading toggles, and modal dialogues are fully operable via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Escape).
  • Skip to Content Link: A dedicated skip navigation link allows keyboard and screen reader users to bypass header elements directly to main article reporting.
  • High Color Contrast & Reading Themes: Our typography palette enforces strict 4.5:1+ contrast ratios for normal text and 3:1 for large text across Light, Sepia, and Dark reading modes.
  • Text Scaling & Responsive Layouts: We provide in-app font scaling (Normal, Large, Extra Large) and support browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functional horizontal scrolling.
  • Semantic Structure: Pages use logical heading hierarchies (h1 through h4), landmark regions (main, nav, aside, footer), and descriptive alt text for editorial figures.

3. Continuous Testing Methodology

We combine automated accessibility linters in our CI/CD pipeline with routine manual testing using screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver) and keyboard-only navigation sweeps across all editorial templates.

4. Feedback & Barrier Reporting

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of Online Safety News. If you encounter an accessibility barrier on any part of our site or require editorial reporting in an alternative format, please contact us:
